Diwali Message from Mr. Michael Howard MP

I would like to extend my warmest wishes on the occasion of Diwali.

The festival of Diwali has inspired millions of Hindus throughout the centuries with its emphasis on the importance of light.That today it is celebrated across the country shows once again that Britain is immensely enriched by the diverse communities that live here.  We area far stronger and better country as a result.

Diwali is also a time for us to reflect on importance of family, friendship, and goodwill. It is celebration of good over evil, of light over darkness.  As such the messages of Diwali is an important once for those of all faiths and none.

I am sure it will be a most memorable festival.
